School is almost here

This summer was a busy one. I barely had a minute to blog..boooo. As you may or may not know I've been face painting up a storm this summer so, my weekends have been jam packed. We also moved at the begining of the summer which sucked and by the way I still have 6 unpacked boxes and no more room for anything!!!
The kids will now be in better schools and my little princess will be starting Transitional Kindergarten!!! AHHHH!! When did she get to be so big.....booooo times two. I have begun the process of getting them ready, shopping for supplies, clothes, shoes and here comes the fun part.....accessories!! WHOO HOO!! You all know how much I love to make fun, girlie stuff. I started making my princess a few hair clips and a fancy new bracelet, which I think she may need a few more. I mean a girls gotta have options especially considering she'll be wearing a uniform(I think)...bleh. That's no fun! So we have to jaz it up a bit with cute accessories...Here is some of what I've been working on....

I made a princess bracelet too but haven't had a chance to take a pic yet. I will when the sun is out. She has bows to match each of these OMG!! so cute!

In case you didn't know...

I have been working my little tail feathers off lately and rarely have time to blog anymore.(the only reason I am now is because I'm sick but, that gives me a chance to catch up on my much neglected blog) As my beautiful cousin Angelina puts it "My, you sure do switch gears quickly" and well, yes, yes I do. I went from designing jewelry and hair accessories to face and body painting almost full time within just a few months. My real full time job is staying at home and raising my 3 munchkins but, when the weekends roll around I'm super, grand face painter extrodinaire LOL! Well, maybe not grand...tee hee.

I'm still making hair accessories but, on a much smaller scale I have two shops on Etsy where you can find my creations. jcgrace which is bows and itty bitty clippies for girls with little or no hair

I tried giving it up but, I really do enjoy creating even if I do have to stay up til all hours of the night to get orders made and ready to ship.

Although making hair accessories is fun, It's not as fun and exciting as face painting. I was a makeup artist for many years but, never really had the time to play and explore. Now, that my kids are older I have finally found what I was meant to do. I LOVE painting..It's like taking makeup to a whole other level. It's really all I think about. I live, eat and sleep painting and I'm so excited to be working with a few photographers to create some new awesome body painting and belly painting pieces. I will share those on my work blog www.shawnadmakeup.blogspot.com as soon as I get them.

So if, I neglect this blog some more  just know that I'm just super busy with my new exciting fantasy makeup way of life....feel like being painted? email me here. Join me on facebook and follow me on twitter.

Mommy 911

So, I’ve always prided myself on being the most well prepared mom on the block from having a spare change of clothes and shoes for each kid in the car to a well stocked and up to date first aid kit not only in the house but in the car as well, that was until a few days ago when IT happened!
We were out and ready to come home from a great Easter/ Birthday Party (yup, that’s how we roll) and IT happened….We were just about to get into the car for a long ride home when I took a look at my oldest son and his eyes looked like he had stuffed a bunch of cotton into the inside corners. They were so large and puffy that it seemed as though the space between them was all even with no dimension. I was shocked and asked if he had fallen and hit the bridge of his nose but, he nodded and said “no”. He had no idea what I was talking about. Well, after much proding I found out that during the Easter egg hunt he had rubbed up against a plant and had a scratch on his arm from it. He was having an allergic reaction!!! OMG! To the First Aid kit I ran but, I stood there shocked and in dismay.
In all my infinite motherly wisdom I had somehow forgotten to add the mother of all medicines to the Car’s First Aid kit. Yes, even the most well prepared mother on the block had missed adding BENDRYL to the First Aid kit!!!
Luckily I thought quickly and ran back to the house and asked another mother if she had any and, of course she DID!
What my friends does this lesson teach us? That even though we think we’re perfectly prepared, we’re not! Now, I must go and double check the First Aid kit in the house as well as I’m sure you will do after reading this too. Wink Wink.

Check out "The Ouch Pouch". I just stumbled upon this shop on Etsy and really coulda used one of these!!!LOL!
